The Swarm is a startup and software platform that helps early stage companies leverage the collective power of each of their team members’ social networks. By combining individual networks into a collective hive, all the relationships can be maximized for recruiting, sales, networking, fundraising and more.

The Challenge

In preparation for the launch of their software platform, The Swarm wanted to create a product launch trailer to help generate a waitlist of companies. The video needed to represent their platform in an impressive, appealing, yet digestible way. The video also needed to stand out to break through the noise and clearly state their value proposition.

Approach

Raconteur started the production process by creating a visual “language” to represent an abstract business network. Then, using that design language, the team developed a handful of beauty shots that hit the important story beats to explain the fundamental features of The Swarm platform. The finale of the animation involved pulling out of the abstract world and into the real world by showing the actual UI on various computer screens.

Results

The Swarm used the video on their website and on social media. It stood out dramatically from other videos and helped them build a waitlist of 1,000 companies.
