Sizzle Reel
Dive underground as RRES, AUSMOS and CISBOT excavate, traverse, inspect and repair different utility assets.
The Challenge
The research and development team at ULC Technologies were developing several different systems involving roadworks excavation, ground penetrating radar, pipeline mapping and repair, AI, solar farm automation and more.
In the early stages of these projects, they needed beautiful concept renderings of the robots and 3D animations of their operation for late-stage pitches to large customers.
Using the engineering drawings as reference, Raconteur created conceptual 3D renderings of the robotic systems, then animated them in various scenarios to demonstrate their function.
Realistic 3D shading, special effects and dynamic camera angles helped to make the animations more engaging and create a “wow” factor.
Raconteur also created and animated a conceptual graphical user interface for a software package that would unite certain robotic systems with a centralized database.
Unfortunately the majority of the renders and animations are still secret, but two that have been released publicly are AUSMOS and RRES, seen below.
ULC showed the animations as part of powerpoint presentations over a web conference. They were also passed around the customer company as a point of reference. The animations and renders created positive traction with the customer and helped to unify various stakeholders in the projects.
